Week 4 Barker 7-8

I liked Barkers view on post modernity being related to how ideas are often confined to cultural contexts. Certainly how a people arrives at truth and meaning is contingent upon language and values, but isn't some meaning and truth absolute? Can't we say that what God wants for humanity is absolute, not dependent upon where one comes from? I think this is a key battle now in the church as the church tries to relate to the rest of a pluralitic world. I am trying to reconcile the truth of the gospel message for how that translates itself into different cultural contexts. Isn't this the goal of missions?
